What to expect after gallbladder surgery
To remove the gall bladder via the key hole method is a fairly significant procedure. However you will be able to go home 1 to 2 days after your operation.
You should gradually increase your activity over the next week and you can return to work at 2 to 3 weeks.
In the event that you have the more traditional operation, this will be more uncomfortable in the initial post operative period but you should be able to go home 4 to 5 days after your operation. You will be able to return to work after 3 to 4 weeks.
Do not drive until you can do an emergency stop comfortably without hesitation, at approximately 2 to 4 weeks.
